Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
