Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team features Teor (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, striking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the group access locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Explorers and Planners parties.
Fans can expect discovering which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
